Sephora Receipt: Beauty Insider Points, Skincare, and Fragrance Purchase Documentation

Sephora: The World's Largest Beauty Platform

Owned by LVMH since 1997, Sephora operates over 2,700 stores globally and has become the dominant beauty retail platform in the US, Europe, and increasingly Asia. The Beauty Insider programme — with three tiers (Insider, VIB, and Rouge) — is one of retail's most effective loyalty programmes, with Rouge members spending over $1,000/year at Sephora. The points balance appears on every receipt, which means Sephora receipts contain more information than a typical retail confirmation.

What a Sephora Receipt Contains

Sephora order confirmations from sephora.com (or sephora.co.uk) are clean and branded in the Sephora black-and-white identity. Your order number and date appear at the top. Items are listed with full product names (e.g. "Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray — 100ml"), shade or variant, quantity, and price. Any promotional offers or discount codes applied appear as separate line items. The Beauty Insider section at the bottom shows points earned on this order and the current cumulative balance. Delivery details complete the confirmation.

Sephora Returns and the Receipt Requirement

Sephora accepts returns within 30 days for unused products and 60 days for Beauty Insider members. Opened products are also accepted within 30 days. The order number or receipt is required for all online purchases. For in-store returns of online orders, the emailed receipt confirmation is scanned. The most common reason people need a Sephora receipt: the original email was deleted before a return needed to be made, particularly for gift purchases made in advance of an occasion.
