Argos Receipt: Catalogue Reservations, Click & Collect, and Online Orders
Argos: Britain's Most Distinctive Retailer
Argos operates unlike any other UK retailer. Historically built around a printed catalogue, customers would find an item number, fill out a paper slip, pay at the counter, and collect from a conveyor. That model has evolved into click-and-collect and home delivery, but Argos receipts still carry the catalogue DNA — they show the catalogue item number prominently alongside the product name, which you won't find on a John Lewis or Amazon receipt.
What an Argos Receipt Includes
Argos order confirmations from argos.co.uk are functional and direct. Your order number appears at the top, followed by the collection or delivery reference. Items are listed with the catalogue number (a five or six-digit code), full product name, quantity, and price. For click-and-collect, the store location and collection window appear prominently. For home delivery, the DPD or courier reference is included. Argos credit and promotional codes show as discounts in the pricing section. The email is branded in Argos red.
Argos Returns and the 30-Day Policy
Argos operates a 30-day return policy for most products, extended to 60 days for products bought with an Argos card. The receipt or order confirmation is required for all returns. For in-store returns, the barcode on the original receipt is scanned at the desk. For home delivery items being returned, the order number is used to initiate the return online. The most common reason people need an Argos receipt copy: the original email was deleted before the return window closed.
